About Ela Jae
Thank you for visiting Ela Jae
Ela Jae was founded by sisters and partners Lindsey Bernhardt and Ashley Miller, born from a shared love of horses and a lifelong connection to fine jewelry.
Lindsey, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Director, began riding at three years old. Her path took her from early mornings at the barn to Nationals, Wellington, and Europe, where she rode and trained horses internationally. In her late twenties, she stepped away from riding to focus on education, career, and family.
Years later, she returned to the saddle—drawn back by the same discipline, connection, and quiet pull that shaped her early life. Riding again became a return to self. Lindsey remains, as ever, deeply grounded in respect for horses and the partnership they offer.
Ashley Miller, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Director, began her career in jewelry design in her early twenties, starting with her own engagement ring. Since then, she has designed for hundreds of clients, bringing a trained eye for balance, restraint, and enduring style.
Ela Jae was formed at the intersection of Lindsey’s equestrian experience and Ashley’s fine jewelry design expertise.
The name is drawn from their initials—LJ Bernhardt, and AJ Miller, and reflects exactly what the brand creates: equestrian jewelry, refined.
Family at Its Core
Ela Jae honors the equestrian world through pieces as intentional and enduring as the bond between horse and rider. The brand exists to give riders a way to wear their passion—quietly, confidently, and without compromise.
From barn to boardroom, stable to sophisticated, Ela Jae is designed for women who balance discipline and elegance with ease. Women who ride, lead, build, and return to the barn because it’s where they feel most themselves.
Ela Jae stands for equine wellness, ethical horsemanship, and respect for the horse above all else. The brand supports awareness and advocacy against abuse, neglect, and exploitation—particularly within competitive and performance-based disciplines. Because partnership demands care, trust, and accountability. And that matters.
For Riders. By Riders.
Every Ela Jae piece is inspired by the details of English riding—the curve of a stirrup, the structure of a bit, the strength and give of leather, the quiet communication between horse and rider.
These elements are translated into clean, timeless jewelry designed for real life. Pieces meant to be worn daily, to age beautifully, and to become part of a rider’s story.
Ela Jae believes jewelry should be intentional. It should carry meaning. For equestrians, that meaning is rooted in partnership, discipline, and devotion earned over time. The designs are recognized by those who know—and admired by everyone else.
As equestrian apparel, tack, and safety equipment evolved, jewelry largely stayed the same—often bulky, whimsical , or impractical. Ela Jae set out to change that.
Designed by riders, for riders, their collections move effortlessly beyond the barn. Gold vermeil amulets are made to layer, stack, or stand alone. Customizable amulets serve as both a statement and a tribute—to the horses who shape us and stay with us long after the ride ends.
Ela Jae creates jewelry that belongs wherever the rider does.
